When - First class Wednesday 8th January 2020, 16:30 - 17:15
How often - Every week, same time, same place

What to expect

 Each class will start off with a physical activity to help everyone get engaged with the class and the teacher. (this is for kids AND adults, be ready!)
 We then settle for a group discussion about different aspects of meditation relating to that session. This could be something like breathing techniques or mindfulness, and the benefits of what we will be learning.
Then we move on to child tested meditation games.
We will try a session-specific guided meditation to put into practice any skills that we have discussed.
And finish off with a group discussion about how everyone feels about their experience of meditation.

Important information

! Meditation is a skill which takes practice. It is easy to let preconceptions take control of your whole experience so please enter the class with an open mind.
! Everyone will learn at their own pace and it is important not to be forceful with children. Allow them to take it at their own speed.
! The meditation space and time is a non-critical, non-judgemental space and time.
! Children often find it hard to sit still - they have lots of energy, and they express themselves with physical movement (which could be because they do not always have the vocabulary to explain how they are feeling or what they are experiencing) and that is okay! We do not expect or want them to sit still for 45 minutes in silence... If they could do that already, it is likely that they are already meditation masters and could give everyone else a few pointers.
! Your teacher is always available if you have any questions or concerns, before, during or after a session. Do not hold your questions in.
